We are thrilled to announce that Bridging Borders with Inmates has been awarded a grant from the City of Toronto. This grant is a testament to our ongoing commitment and efforts in making a positive impact on our community. It enables us to extend our reach, specifically by conducting workshops in Scarborough for youths with gang experience.
These workshops are designed to provide a supportive and transformative environment for young individuals who have been affected by gang involvement. Our aim is to offer them new perspectives, skills, and opportunities to reshape their futures positively. This initiative is aligned with our core mission of fostering resilience, providing support, and advocating for those who are at a crossroads in their lives.
York University's CRIM 4667: Criminology Placement Course, offered by the Department of Social Science, features a unique partnership with Bridging Borders with Inmates (BBI). This full-year program allows students to gain hands-on experience by working directly with incarcerated individuals, aiding in their reintegration and applying their criminology studies in a practical, community-focused setting.
